National Public Lands Day educates people about the importance of our environment
and natural resources, and for shared stewardship of these valued, irreplaceable lands by building partnerships
between the public and various groups.
Explore and learn about some of the 560 National Wildlife Refuges in the U.S. There is at least one WLR in every
state and some have many. Create art, write a short story, or a book or poetry that features some aspect of a
National Wildlife Refuge. The Chugach Arts Council will produce an art book and another of art and stories. Links
