2 Events in South Florida
Chugach Arts Council was honored to be invited to participate
in 2 events in South Florida this past October, 2013. The first ever Homestead Book Fair was a wonderful
event with music, vendors and authors from a wide range of genres. Alaskans are migratory and with the Air
Base nearby, there were some visitors to the booth that were familiar with the Chugach.
Later that month, October 16, 2013, the Air Base
Elementary School hosted a Green Educational Fair that included presenters from a variety of conservation and
nature related organizations. Our past and future projects relating to Pollinators, Endangered Species
& Oceans were of interest to those in attendance.
We were given a nice certificate of appreciation from the school and charming hand made card by the Pre-Kindergarten art class. Inside the card was a quote from Robert Louis
Stevenson,
"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap,
but by the seeds
that you
plant."
